FIDA Canada is our country’s exclusive representative of FIDA, the world’s leading drone sports governing body. We’re Canada’s best source for drone education, training, and sport programs, including drone soccer, drone racing, and drone technology development. Most importantly, we help young Canadians prepare for high-tech career development by teaching them the essentials about how to operate drones for sports competition, recreation, entertainment, and work purposes.

Our mission and vision

FIDA Canada’s mission is to educate and empower young people and adults throughout Canada, and to provide career development and training to everyone who wishes to learn more about the exciting world of drone technology. At FIDA Canada, we’re working to introduce people to drones and other advanced technologyies that can help make our lives better.

Today, drones serve critical needs that were unknown a few years ago. Drone pilots today operate drones for a wide variety of purposes, including competitive sports such as drone soccer and drone racing, aerial surveys, cinematography, as well as for military and law enforcement purposes. We’re especially committed to helping young people of the First Nations and other under-served communities to achieve their goals for education and workforce development on a pathway toward future success with rewarding careers.

Our vision is for a comprehensive network of “Drone Zones” throughout Canada, places where people can learn to operate and enjoy drones, especially through the magic of drone soccer and drone racing. For drone soccer enthusiasts, we offer a full range of competition classes:

We believe that drone soccer is the ideal gateway to lead young Canadians toward successful and rewarding careers as drone operators and other high-tech professions. That’s why we’re so excited about bringing students of all ages into drone soccer leagues now being formed in 23 zones across Canada.

Drones are fun and easy to use for children of all ages. Once engaged, students continue to grow and learn to apply increasingly advanced technologies, even as they enjoy the thrill of competition with drone soccer. Our highest goal is workfroce development.

Drone soccer is for everyone

We offer opportunities for students of all ages, with three levels of drone soccer:

✔ Class 20 with a 20-centimeter drone soccer ball for students as young as 5 years of age

✔ Class 40 with a 40-centimeter drone soccer ball for high school and college students

Canadian Drone Soccer (CDS) proudly serves as the strategic and operational partner of the Federation of International Drone Soccer Association (FIDA) Canada. Dedicated to fostering innovation and education, CDS plays a vital role in promoting and growing drone soccer nationwide.

As a strategic partner, CDS collaborates with FIDA Canada to expand the sport’s presence across schools, communities, and organizations. Through targeted initiatives, CDS integrates drone soccer into STEM education and extracurricular activities, inspiring youth to explore careers in engineering, programming, and drone technology. Trainers and drone operators

The FIDA team is built on a network of well-experienced drone operators who teach students how to safely operate drones and get the most benefit from them. Our drone operators and student coaches quickly teach young people how to fly drones and how to use them competitively for drone soccer and drone racing, and prepare them for certification as drone operators for purposes of workforce development.

Technologists and developers

Drone technologies are rapidly become more sophisticated, with new capabilities being added frequently. The FIDA team includes several leading drone-technology experts and developers who are constantly moving drone sports and commercial uses to ever-higher levels of value.

Professional educators and teachers

While teaching young people how to enjoy and benefit from drones, it’s also important to make sure that adults stay abreast of new technologies. We can all grow together, regardless of our age. That’s why a significant portion of our team consists of professional teachers, educators, and school administrators who are enthusiastic about drones.
